  Can someone explain to me why the giants acted like they didnt want to score that last TD in the superbowl?

Its an extra point either way. You have literally no upside of trying to perfectly down the ball at the 1 vs the 5 yard line, with the downside that you might ACCIDENTALLY SCORE A TOUCHDOWN.

Im sure they will. It would be a bit fishy if the NFL kept fixing games in the exact same way, over and over, wouldnt it?

70's Steelers would have had Franco score then have the Steel Curtain shut down the opposing offense.
Giants=no trust in the defense

I'm sure kickers would disagree. And mathemeticians would too. The closer you are, the more margin of error you have in the wide angle you can direct the ball.

Especially if there's a holding penalty, and now it's kicking from the 11 yd line versus the 16 yd line.

The game is completely different now, and wildly favors the passing game.

From the 1990s - Today, the NFL has completely changed the rules to favor the passing game. Defenses can't hit the WRs and QBs. No touching a "defenseless receiver". Can't even lay a finger on the QBs helmet, even if it's an accidental graze. In the past, helmet-to-helmet shots on WRs were standard business. He got his "bell rung". No big deal.

There is no way in hell that Drew Brees would have broken Dan Marino's 1984 passing record if Drew Brees had to play in the older rules.

I AM a mathematician, tard. The extra advantage you have from kicking from the 1 vs kicking from the 5 is negligible at best, and certainly not worth risking accidentally giving the ball back to the other team for.

Youre right. Given the fact you could fumble, get a penalty or ACCIDENTALLY SCORE A TOUCHDOWN, there is even less of a reason for teams in the position to run that play for the negligible benefit. They really should have just taken a knee there.

Obviously not a very good one.

The closer you are to the goal, the wider the angle you have to direct the ball.

you're a mathematician?

what are your thoughts on the proof for Fermat's Last Theorem?

Its much more thorough than the one for his First Theorem.

Now ask me one about sport.
