How so? The unwashed and uneducated masses clearly prefer Obama. The college professors love him because he controls their funding.

because mormoms are less than 1% of the population and will not affect the election results idiot

Or it also could be that by being Mormon, they know that Romney espouses the values and beliefs that they have.
No different than people voting along party lines.

I'm no fan of Mormons but I don't see this as a valid argument.

Republicans are morons. The change in the black vote with Obama running was only a couple of percent. If they keep at being the party of rich white men, they're going to watch the latino vote go down that same path.

As an atheist, having a Mormon president would be awesome.

He clearly does not. Utah is the most conservative state in the Union. Romney, as I mentioned in the OP, is the most liberal of the Republican primary candidates.

Get back to us when you get some experience being an atheist in Utah where they do actually run the place.

No way only 95% of blacks voted for Obama.

It's got to be closer to 99%.

Yes.

I don't know what %-age of blacks voted for Obama in the primary, but it won't be 95%. There were a few black pols who endorsed Hillary, no?

I'm not talking political. I'm talking social, spiritual, and other things that people look at when voting as well.
People will vote for people they feel will understand where they are coming from and their needs.

If you mean that Mormons will stick together at other people's and even their own expense. Sure.

Of course they do. It's human nature. You think they're the only ones?

That depends on whether they think he's a good Mormon. He may do the superficial things needed to stay a Mormon, but it's likely he seems as wishy washy of his faith as he does in his politics.

I think Mormons may be in the same position as the rest of the Republicans - they'll vote for him because he's Republican/Mormon, but they won't be particularly excited about it.
