What is Pittsburgh like? Drove through it once and found it very picturesque.

One of the most attractive US cities I've ever seen. I also hear it has low unemployment, low rents, and is becoming a hipster mecca.
-The black tend to keep in their areas and the whites in theirs. Alot of Italians and eastern europeans settled there as slave labor for the steel mills. They are not like your typical whites that run at the sight of a black person. The one question I have, maybe Justin Sane can answer it. Penn Hills was once a white area, now it is becoming another Baddock or Clairton...what going on?

The fact that it's like every other Great Lakes shithole - where the middle class whytes escaped to the suburbs, the blacks have the decayed desolate city center, and the blue collar ethnics and whyte trash live in run down duplexes on the city fringe, and beat the shit out of anybody who's not from their block?

I hate the city. Because you can see where you want to go and could swim and walk 200 yards to get there and it will take you 45 minutes in some bass-ackwards way to get there.
I like the people.
I hate the weather - that part of the country (western PA/Eastern OH) has the fewest sunny days in teh country. Always gloomy.

It was one of the few larger cities where white families would go downtown for nighttime activities, etc. But the last one was ruined by widespread TNB. It was a few months ago. I forget what activity it was.
The city and metro are are relatively white but the blacks are spread out into many areas. It probably helps a lot to be with a local and know where not to go.
